In true "Norfolk Broads Red Hat style" five of us met up at Thorpe Station to venture
up to Blackpool....and what a great time we had.
We were met and greeted and shown to our very spacious rooms at the famous "Imperial"
4* hotel. Two hours later we were in the Washington Suite eating and drinking with
150 other Red Hat girls. Afterwards we were escorted to our own exclusive trams
to see the World famous Blackpool Illuminations....Thank goodness we were under cover
because the heavens opened!!! BUT THIS DID NOT STOP THE WONDERFUL SIGHTS that awaited
us and the laughter and singing could be heard all over Blackpool.
We arrived back to more singing dancing to 60s and 70s music till midnight.
After breakfast we took the trams to North Pier where we spent some leisure time
before parading to the famous Blackpool Tower and was met by the Mayor of Blackpool.
The sun came out for us!!! What a spectacular sight we made.
Afternoon tea was provided for us all at the tower...In the evening we enjoyed GALA
DINNER.. 3 course table service "Illuminating Blackpool".......AND YES everyone was
illuminated... So much effort from ALL the girls... Again another spectacular sight.
Following dinner we danced we sung till midnight. The fun and friendship shone through
with all the other chapters.
After breakfast off to Freeport Fleetwood for just a little bit of retail therapy!!!
Yes we came away with carrier bags full!!!
In the evening all glammed up we headed off to "Viva Blackpool night club" after
another three course dinner we were entertained by "The Jerseys" ... OH WHAT A NITE!!
Farewell breakfast to all our lovely "Red hat" friends.
On the train home we all looked very weary BUT ALL AGREED we had the most fantastic
time and in between all what was arranged for us ...we went swimming, sauna, steam
room jacuzzi, drinks, parties... fooling around... jokes from a certain person who
told us again and again "The Cat" joke!!!!!...meeting the other chapters whom it
seemed we had known each other all our lives.
Would we do it all again................You bet we would.
